Exhibition
Berlin Square
Expo 2010
Shanghai, China

I was asked by Alexander Branczyk in name of Create Berlin to contribute to the Exhibition Berlin Square in the German Pavillion at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
I had one side of a 1,5 m large cube and all the freedom to do what I wanted to do: this is always a terrible feeling for a designer, you know.
My idea was to create a picture of the city using type and illustrations, putting together all my impressions of the city, the good, the bad and the ugly.
With handmaded lettering and my typical reduced illustrations I created a colourful and playful world.
It is a sort of ironic, but sincere declaration of love to Berlin.
A very personal view of the german capital, as you can see.

Some more informations about the exhibition can be find at berlinsquare2010.de.
